Devotionals

Released at the beginning of Nona Zuri creative cycles, Devotionals capture Nona Zuri's literary themes and apply them to everyday life.

Moraba' In The Scope of Wealth, Power and Relationships

Moraba' is a 50 page daily devotional narrated towards secure strategic thinking frameworks. Inspired by the South African heritage boardgame, Morabaraba, the devotional leads the person working through it across the value of their internal and external resources, defense and developing a sharp eye for the proverbial boards of career (wealth), power dynamics and relationships. An ethical approach to strategy, the author played Morabaraba in her youngest years visiting her  Drakensberg based ancestral seat during school holidays, the lessons therein primed her for her youth participation in chess. Holder of a Bachelor's in Psychology and the social science, Sociology, the artisan approaches Moraba' from a multi-level of experience and tested thinking frameworks.

The Anatomy of a Nona Zuri Devotional

Unlike long-form from the house, devotionals are not handbound - due to their nature. Since owners of a copy will use it to practice, brainstorm and test their frameworks at different stages of their lives – possibly at different times – the devotional is perfectly bound in a matte black hardcover, inside of which is a text block composed of wood-pulp paper with sections left plain for participant answers and notes. This makes the piece perfect for repeated purchase and archival reference as the participant moves strength to strength.
